Vinoteka Wine cellars of Slovenia was founded in the 1960s as support to the oldest international wine judging in Europe, the international wine judging in Ljubljana. It's selection at that time included all the wines that were important in Yugoslavia.  

Private wine producers first came to Vinoteka in the 1980s when their first private wines were made. At that time Slovenia as a wine growing country was starting to establish itself as a major wine country. In modern times Slovenia is well known between European wine conosures as a smaller wine growing country with excellent and diverse wines. People visit Vinoteka Wine cellars of Slovenia to experiance Slovenian wines and enjoy the diversity that our wines can offer. The goal of Wine cellars of Slovenia is to allways have a new wine present that can stimulate tast buns of wine lovers and give them an experiment and short trip into the wine world...

The world has become small and trying new wines and compairing them with what one has tried has become an adventure of its own. We are also following this ideal and have expanded our offer to incluide foreign wines from Europe as well as so called New World wines. We can currently say that our VInoteka offers the biggest selection of domestic and foreign wines in Slovenia.
